NBA Draft: Beasley or Rose

Published by illmatic1 at 12:34 am under Sports Edit This

The NBA Draft is coming up in two days. People already know who the first two players will be drafted, but the question is which college star will be drafted first? If you asked me 8 months ago, the answer would be clear. But now, the answer is a little complicated.

Michael Beasley was the best player in the NCAA for the season. He dominated just about anyone he played, getting his points and rebounds at will. His ferocious personality in the court was also not a bad thing for the scouts. Every time he was on the court, you could tell he was the best player there.

Derrick Rose also had a great season. But it was the NCAA Tournament where he was able to put his stock maybe just a little bit higher than Beasley. Rose was the star of the tournament, ala what Carmelo did in Syracuse. He was able to put his stamp on every game Kansas State played, whether it was giving them points, or being a team player and passing it to teammates.

In my opinion, based on the NCAA tournament and what the Chicago Bulls need, Derrick Rose should be the number one draft pick. He can give the Bulls the leadership and star presence that they sorely need. Rose is the franchise player to get.
